Mission

Mission and Goals

The Collaborative for Border Ministries is a network of faith-based organizations addressing the immediate crisis in the Southern California border region by providing direct services and a gospel presence to people on the move.

Goals

In pursuit of this mission the Collaborative will continue and initiate programs to:

1) Ensure access to basic needs of food, shelter, clothing, and support services and pastoral care;
2) Provide programs enabling victims of human and civil rights violations access to legal services;
3) Maintain a strategic planning process by which individual ministries and the Collaborative itself fosters the effective use of resources.

Support of the Mission and Goals

In partnership with the Transborder Coalition, the Collaborative will:

    • Facilitate the recruitment and placement of volunteers for border ministries and serve as advocates for migrants.
    • Foster the education of the faith community about the border crisis and the gospel mandate to welcome the stranger.
    • Garner support for ministries alleviating the suffering of people on the move.
